The 2nd International Students
Conference on HIV/AIDS and the UN MDGs - Mulungushi Conference
Centre, Lusaka, Zambia 17 - 23 July, 2005.
This conference is being organised by ISCA
Zambia, a student group based at the University of Zambia;
Rescue Mission Zambia is partnering with ISCA Zambia to produce
the Programme for the Conference and the Evaluation Process.
The Ungana-Afrika
eRiding Incubation Workshop - Initialisation of eRiding in
Zambia - Commonwealth Youth Programme Africa Centre, Lusaka,
Zambia (12 - 13 July 2005)
This workshop is being organised by Ungana-Afrika and sponsored
by the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA).
Rescue Mission Zambia is assisting Ungana-Afrika by ensuring
that all logistics are in place and it is also providing
volunteers for the facilitation. RMZ plans to later set up an
eRiding model in Zambia for youth NGOs and schools with the
support of OSISA, Kabissa, Ungana-Afrika and others under the
auspices of the Youth SPEARHEAD project.
The Southern African Youth Conference on ICTs and Development -
Implementation Follow Up to WSIS and WSSD Processes - Pamodzi
Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia (6 - 9 August 2006).
 We
are in the initial stages of organising a conference on ICTs and
Youth Development to be held in Lusaka, Zambia in August 2006 at
Pamodzi Hotel.
The conference shall be a youth follow-up to
the WSIS and WSSD processes and it shall also look at related
global campaigns like eRiding, YCDO, YES etc.
The countries to be involved involved are
Zambia, Zimbabwe, Congo DRC, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique,
Swaziland, Lesotho, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Mauritius,
Seychelles, Reunion and Madagascar. We hope to have guest
participants from Nigeria, Ghana and Egypt and also from Europe
and America but the focus area is Southern Africa.
We are currently looking for partners to host
this major conference. We need partners to look into content for
the conference and also fundraising etc. We hope to form an
international steering committee by September 2005.
